The fifth game of 81th Meijin title series 7 game series where Fujii Ryuou was challenging Watanabe Meijin was held at Fujiiso Ryokan in Kamitakigun on May 31th and June1th. score was Fujii Ryuou three wins, Watanabe Meijin one win. Game form was Yagura. Watanabe Meijin chose Kikusui Yagura. Fujii Ryuou won with 94 moves.
Fujii Meijin became 7 crowns at the age of 20 years and 10 months and broke the record of Habu9-dan`s 25 years and 4 months. He was also the youngest Meijin title holder and broke the record of Tanikawa 17th permanent Meijin`s 21 years and 2 months for the first time in 39 years and 11months.
