New Eiou Title challenger was born in April 2th. His name is Wakamu Deguchi 6-dan. He beat Hattori 4-dan with 142 moves and became Eiou Title challenger and promoted to 6-dan.
He had been playing shoureikai 3-dan League for 6 years and became professional Shogi player at the age of 23.
He is pupils of Inoue 9-dan. Inoue 9-dan has a lot of Pupils, for example, Funae 6-dan, Inaba 8-dan, Sugai 8-dan.
He got married to Keika Kitamura Ladies 1-dan in 2021. I think that he want to get title and give his wife a Wedding anniversary gift.
Fujii Eiou and Deguchi 6-dan played in Shinjin Ou Tournament in 2018. Fujii 7-dan(at that time ) won the Shinjin ou and became the youngest Shinjin ou. Score was Fujii 7-dan two win.
Eiou Title Series will begin on April 28th, which is Deguchi 6-dan`s birthday. Can he celebrate his birthday with his victory? I am looking forward to it.
