The first game of the 80th Meijin Title series 7-game match,where Saitou 8-dan was challenging Watanabe Meijin was held at Hotel Chinzanso in Tokyo on April 6th and 7th.
Hotel Chinzanso is famous for the meijin Title place. They held the first game of Meijin Title Series every year.
Saitou 8 dan was Meijin Title Series challenger last year. He came from behind to win the first game last year there, but he could not win Meijin title(score was 1 win 4 loss).
He wanted to win Meijin Title this year. Sente was Watanabe Meijin . Game form was Yagura . The first game was different from that of last year. Saitou 8 dan tried to bring his king to opponent camp. Watanabe Meijin had excellent moves. He did not give satiou8-dan a chance to enter opponent camp. Saitou 8-dan could not get a chance to turnover.
Watanabe Mijin won with 107 moves. Next game will be held on April 19th and 20th.
