Kimura 9-dan (47year -old) is very kind to all shogi fun.
Each title Match has an conference, and Professional Shogi player tells us about the situation in title match. His narration in shogi title conference is very humorous. `` This rook is sleeping, if this rook wakes up, it is noisy so, let him sleep. `` It is very easy to understand isn`t it . He always cares about narration for the amateur.
There was a great Oui Title Episode for him . Last year There was a heavy rain disaster in Kyushu island (Southern part of Japan). There was an enormous damage to houses, buildings and rice fields. Hundreds of people lost their houses and were forced to evacuate.
He proposed sealed move auction in Oui title Series and Sealed move auction (three sealed move written by Fujii 7-dan) were held by Japan Shogi Association. They collected total $204,563 and sent money to disaster area. This was the first time to held sealed move auction.
He tried to get Title about 6 times, but he failed to get one. Most player gave up to get title because of age. He did not give up. His favorite word `` hyakujitsu futou 百折不撓 . It means we keep trying until you achieve goal even if you failed or face trouble.
Finally he got Oui Title from Toyoshima Oui(at that time) in 2019. He was the oldest record to win his first title(46 years and 3 months) updated.
But he failed to defend Oui Title last year( He lost 4 consecutive lost). As you know, He never give up. He defeat Satou 9-dan in Ouza challenger deciding match and became Ouza title Challenger.
Ouza Title Series will be held on September 1th. Don`t miss it.
