The fifth game of the 79th Meijin Title series 7-game match,where Saitou 8-dan was challenging Watanabe Meijin was held at Hotel Kagetuen in Sengokuhara Hakone town on May 28th and 29th. Score was Watanebe Meijin three win , Saitou 8-dan one-win.

Sente was Saitou 8-dan. Satiou 8-dan chose Right-hand 4th file rook, Watanabe Meijin chose snow roof .
It was a fierce game from the morning of the first day. Saitou 8-dan was dominant at the first day. After sealed move was played, Watanabe Meijin became dominant little by little.
Watanabe Meijin won with 94 moves. He was the first time to defend Meijin title.
He is also a challenger for Kisei Title. There will be a Kisei Title Series next Sunday on June 6th. Watanabe Meijin had been fighting three title series since January and defneded all of them - Oushou, Kiou , Meijin. I can`t wait Kisei title Series.
