The fiftth game of the 33th Ryuou Title series 7-game match ,where Habu 9-dan was challenging Toyoshima Ryuou was held at Hotel Kagetuen in Sengokuhara Hakone town on December 5th and 6th.
You can see the view of Mt Fuji(the most famous mountain in Japan) depending on weather at this hotel. This hotel is the famous place where Tanigawa 8-dan (at that time) defeated Kato Meijin (at that time )and gaind the Meijin title on June in 1983. He became the youngest Meijin title holder whose age was 21year-old and 2months and his record has not been broken yet.
Game form was rapid Yagura. First mover was Habu9-dan.
Alarm was ringing by accident from 10:45 am to 10:49am on the second day. game was terminated temporally. After they confirmed that this alarm was for emergency training, game was restarted soon. Even if the accident happened, Both players stayed calm and played an excellent game.
Toyoshima Ryuou won with 84 moves. Score was 4 -win and 1-loss. He is the first time to defend title. I think that "New Toyoshima era" has come hasn`t it?
